- Account Information: When you create an account via Google OAuth, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this to manage your identity and track your usage quotas.
- User Content: We collect Personal Data that you provide in the input to our Services (“Content”), including your text prompts, math problems, and images you upload for video generation.
- Technical & Usage Data: We automatically collect information that your browser or device sends, including your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and how you interact with our Services (e.g., generation time, feature usage, and timestamps).
- Communication Information: If you communicate with us via email or support channels, we may collect your name, contact information, and the contents of your messages.
2. How We Use Personal Data
We use Personal Data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain our Services: Including parsing your prompts and rendering the requested animated educational videos.
- To improve and develop our Services: We analyze usage patterns and feedback to refine our rendering engine, prompt templates, and overall user experience.
- To prevent fraud and abuse: We monitor content for policy violations (including prompt injection attempts) and implement rate limits to protect our infrastructure.
- To comply with legal obligations: We process data as required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users and the public.
We do not use your Content to train public models unless you explicitly opt-in to research programs.
3. Disclosure of Personal Data
We disclose your Personal Data only in the following circumstances:
- Vendors and Service Providers: We share data with partners like Google Cloud (for Gemini AI processing) and Supabase (for database hosting) who assist us in operating our business. These parties access data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality.
- Legal Requirements: We may share data with government authorities if required by law or to defend against legal claims, prevent fraud, or protect the safety of individuals.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or bankruptcy, user data may be transferred to a successor entity.
4. Data Retention
We retain your Personal Data for only as long as necessary to provide our Services. How long we keep data depends on its nature:
- Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active.
- Content & Videos: Stored in your personal Library until you choose to delete them.
- Security Logs: Retained for a limited period to investigate abuse or security incidents.
If you request account deletion, we will remove your Personal Data from our active systems within 30 days, unless required for legal or security reasons.
5. Data Controls & Your Rights
You have control over your data, including the right to:
- Access and Export: View and export your video generation history through your Library.
- Correction: Update your profile information at any time.
- Deletion: Request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated Content.
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from any non-essential communications.
6. Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Data from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. However, no internet transmission is ever fully secure; therefore, you should take care in deciding what information you provide to the Services.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age. Users under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to use Cortex.
8. Changes to This Policy
